BMW head unit wiring harness

I wanted to upgrade the factory cassette radio on this e36 with a new Kenwood head unit. But I didn't want to splice a bunch of wires, and mess with tricky soldering inside the car. I purchased a separate BMW connector and made a plug an play wiring harness for the new head unit.

Laptop battery cell extraction

The lithium-ion batteries used in some of higher powered flashlights can be kind of expensive. About $10-15 each. Keeping spares around can add up. One way of getting a bunch of these for cheap is by taking apart laptop batteries.

Keyboard USB mod

I wanted to convert the PS2 connector on my IBM Model M keyboard so that it will work via USB. There's a controller board called a Teensy that tinkerers can program to perform different functions. I wired one up to the keyboard PCB and loaded a USB converter program to it. Now I can use my dated keyboard on any modern computer with a USB port.

Another option is an external PS2 to USB converter box that sometimes works, but I think the internal Teensy method is cleaner looking and more reliable.
